Chiang Dao - Phrao: One Day in Thailand on a Harley Davidson

Chiang Dao is a popular destination with great roads. This tour features Some fine Highway riding, Back roads through teak forest with huge trees and some open road.

We ride North through town to highway 107. This highway swings beautifully and follows the river for a while before taking us to Chiang Dao Cave and it's temples. After a look around we will take lunch at one of our favorite places, at the base of Doi Chiang Dao.
 
Chiang Dao is presided over by Doi Chiang Dao (Doi = Mountain). Usually shrouded in mist the approach to the mountains is lined with rice fields and banana palms. Occasionally, you might see a few elephants at work or feeding along the side of the road.
 
After Lunch, we ride North then east on some tighter mountain roads, before dropping into the valley near Phrao. Stop for a stretch by the lake before heading back to Chiang Mai on a road that flows beautifully.

• Visit the herbal medicine market, feed the giant Carp and check out the cave
• Enjoy a relaxing Lunch.
• A short ride north of Chiang Dao to the turn off to Phrao and plenty of sweeping turns offering views of rural Thailand
• Stop at one of the many lakes to stretch your legs and grab a cool drink
