Samoeng - Chiang Dao: One Day in Thailand on a Harley Davidson

This ride features forested Mountain roads, panoramic mountain vistas, the Queen Sikirit Botanical Gardens and a ride north to Chiang Dao. The route between Hang Dong and the Highway to Chiang Dao is one of the most popular Motorcycle day trips among local riders of both sport and touring bikes.

The roads on this ride are wide with sweeping turns just perfect for a cruise. The scenery is lush, tropical forest. Ride through and above the forest over the course of the day. Sparse traffic makes this an ideal relaxing ride.
 
About half-way into the ride we'll pass by (or stop if you like) Queen Sikirit Gardens. After the gardens are several attractions you might want to ask your guide about; monkey farms, snake farms elephant farms, butterfly farms, bungee jumping and off-road ATV rides are among some of the attractions. It's your ride, and we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes.

• 8:30 - 9:00 AM Briefing over coffee & pastries
• Depart Chiang Mai 9:00 AM
• Travel south to Hang Dong and head west into the foothills
• Ride through beautifully forested mountain roads into Samoeng
• Turn right just before Samoeng onto one of the most popular motorcycle roads in Chiang Mai
• Stop at Queen Sikirit Botanical Gardens (don;t feed the carnivorous plants!) relax, maybe grab a bite to eat.
• Follow the mountain roads back to Mae Taeng and head north to Chiang Dao Cave and the herbal medicine market.
• Return through Mae Rim.

While in Chiang Dao you maight want to pick up some special herbal medicines. While many have real healing and symptom relieving properties, The ladies selling the herb will assure you they will all give you that "Special Strength."
