Mae Hong Son, Mae Sai Five Days, a Harley Davidson, Thailand

Five days riding a Harley Davidson through Thailand's countryside, This ride has it all. Country lanes, switchback mountain roads, sweeping curves on broad mountain highways through lush forests, run through the rice fields and riverside rides; as complete a sampler of Thialand's finest motorcycle roads as can be packed into five days on a Harley Davidson or any motorcycle, anywhere.
Harley Davidson parked at a Thialand Hotel
Parked for the evening among a few other bikes, One of our Harley Davidson Dyna Glides waits for the next day's ride.
South of Chiang Mai we head up the road into the hills. The only thing keeping this road from being a popular day trip for motorcyclists is; it isn't a day trip. At about 380 kilometers of mountain roads to Mae Hong Son this is a full day ride. We've scheduled a lunch stop in Mae Sariang. You've got time to enjoy the scenery and the road.

After lunch it's about an hour ride to Khun Yuam, the Japanese - Thai friendship museum is a good excuse for a short stop. We'll arrive in Mae Hong Son with plenty of time to check into your hotel and relax before dinner and a chance to explore one of Thailand's most beautiful cities.
Wat caretaker in Thailand
We met this man at a wat he invited us to ride up the hill to a chedi. Meeting people like him is part of the ride.
After breakfast, we've got a twisty 110 kilometer ride to Pai. You can get a tee shirts that claims you rode 1864 curves on the road to Pai. The number is not important, I lost count at 1833. The road to Pai,like so many other roads in this region of Thailand are just made for a Harley Davidson ride.

Although a ride of 110 kilometers my sound like a short one, this region of Thailand is worth exploring, and we will take the time to explore few off-the-beaten-path destinations. We should arrive in Pai with enough time to explore some of the local spots as well.

Pai is a popular destination for foreign travelers, you will find places claiming to have the "Best Burger in Asia" or the "Best Sandwich in Thailand." You'll also find quiet, outdoor, riverside restaurants where you can while away a few hours eating traditional Thai foods as you watch the dusk turn into night over the valley.
Dusk along the Pai River
Relaxing along the Pai river in Pai Thailand great way to unwind after day in the saddle of Harley Davidson.
Breakfast in Pai, we've got time today to take a ride out to an elephant camp. Everyone should try an elephant ride at least once. If you're not interested in that how about a hot mineral bath soak? Riding a Harley Davidson through the Thailand country side is reason enough for the ride. After riding around the valley for a while, we've got more mountain roads ahead on our way to Chiang Dao.

Wat Rong Khun

Many visitors to Thailand send a good deal of their time visiting the different temples. Temples in Thailand are built in many different traditional styles. Unless specifically asked, we do not load our tours with visits to temples. Wat Rong Khun is unlike any temple in Thailand. If You are riding our Harley Davidsons North to Mae Sai, Chiang Rai or Chiang Saen, you just gotta see this one.

The temple is a work of art conceived by Chalermchai Kositpipat. Stark white with highlights of mirrored glass it combines modern and traditional Thai art. The grounds are worth your time.
